Improve leadership skills and build a more effective organization.

How to improve leadership skillsYour high performance leaders will emerge when you introduce them to the concepts in Everything DiSC® Work of Leaders profiles.

When used as pre-work for a classroom training experience, the online Everything DiSC® Work of Leaders Profile can be combined with engaging facilitation and video to create a personalized learning experience.  Managers will learn about their own leadership behaviors and how to use their strengths and compensate for weaker areas to improve effectiveness.

The Focus is on Vision, Alignment, and Execution:
Your leadership team will learn about each of the four DiSC® Personality Styles; and how each style uses a different way to lead, communicate and delegate tasks.   They’ll learn to identify the needs of each style and how to correct, motivate and counsel people in ways that are effective for that persons natural style.

Your influence depends on your leadership skills:
Your influence with co-workers comes from two sources:  “Positional Power” and “Personal Power.”  Positional power is just as it sounds – you’re the department head, the CEO, the sales manager etc.  A definite amount of power comes from positional authority.

Personal Power on the other hand is earned and developed.  Positional power may be the starting point for influencing employees, but it is personal power that turns compliance to cooperation.

In the past few decades, employees have gained increased clout.  Management theories have given more power to the rank-and-file employee.   A leader can’t really lead until he or she has followers – until he or she is genuinely accepted by those who are willing to follow.  This makes personal power your skill of choice when dealing with people.

Improve leadership skills and empower others:

So empower employees, rather than just seeking power over them.  To do that it is important that you use attentive listening skills, observe others and talk with them.  Then adapt your style so they’ll feel recognized as important and wanted.

By honoring and valuing employee individuality – that is their natural behavioral style, they’ll become more engaged, and work harder when they feel they belong to a winning team.
